How much traffic do I need before A/B testing is worth it?

Rule of thumb: 5,000+ monthly sessions and 50+ conversions on the page you're testing for results in 14-21 days. Below that, tests take so long to reach significance that you can't iterate fast enough. Smaller stores benefit more from CRO 'best practice deployment' (heuristic improvements) than from A/B testing — we do both depending on traffic.

What's a good conversion rate for a Shopify store?

Depends on category and traffic mix. Cold paid traffic to PDP typically converts 1-2%. Direct + email + branded search converts 3-5%. High-AOV niche brands often run lower-CVR but higher-RPV. Industry medians around 1.8-3.0% blended; our client portfolio runs 2-4% blended.

Will CRO conflict with SEO or paid attribution?

Done right, no. A/B testing platforms support proper canonical tagging and prerender so Google sees the original page. Paid attribution is unaffected because the test runs on the same URL with the same tracking. Done wrong (no canonicalization, cloaking variant content from Google), CRO can absolutely tank SEO — which is why most agencies' work hurts more than it helps.

Can you run CRO without breaking my brand?

Yes — design and brand quality are non-negotiable. Every test we ship goes through brand review before it goes live, and we don't run 'ugly variants' or aggressive growth-hack patterns that work short-term but hurt brand equity.
